Bong on seeking higher office: I don’t think about it

People may be telling him he can run for Vice-president, and even President in the next nationwide polls.  But Sen. Bong Revilla doesn’t want to give anything definite about his  plans to seek higher office.

“Sa totoo lang, ayokong isipin yan,” he said last night at the grand celebration of his 45th birthday at the Diamond Hotel ballroom last night. “Paubaya muna natin sa kanila yan.”

Bong said, however, that it’s best to be prepared.

“Pero kung saka-sakaling dumating yan, well, tingnan natin. Pero dapat maging handa tayo pagdating ng oras na yon.”

The presence of politicians in Bong’s party last night showed how much clout he had in the field.  Senators Frank Drilon, Juan Ponce-Enrile and Jinggoy Estrada were there.

Photographers swarmed around former president Joseph Estrada.

Pasig Rep. Roman Romulo arrived early with fiancé Shalani Soledad, who said she will continue her hosting career, even after she gets married.  Both were mum on the details of their wedding.

Meanwhile, Bong said he is happy Marian Rivera and Rhian Ramos are already in good terms, and his Metro Filmfest entry,  “Ang Panday: IKalawang Yugto,” is instrumental in their reconciliation.

“Magkaakbay pa nga sila,” Bong describes his co-stars.

Another co-star is Lorna Tolentino, who agreed to play the villain role – that of a witch, for free.

“She just requested me to fix the road going to her farm (in Baylen, General Aguinaldo, Cavite). I said no problem. That’s public service anyway. Nakapagbigay na ako ng P1-M. Dagdagdagan ko pa yon,” reveals Bong.

Lorna, on the other hand says, the main reason she agreed to star in the movie for free is because Bong is a family friend she will always feel grateful to.

“Senators Bong and Jinggoy helped the family in our time of trial. Thank God for true family friends,” she said in a text message.

Besides, Lorna added that her late husband, Rudy Fernandez always wanted her to continue connecting with family friends like Bong.

“Kinilabutan ako nung pumayag si Ms. LT (Lorna Tolentino),” Bong relates. “She will wear prosthetics and her role is very important in the film.  Tatawid pa nga raw siya sa “Panday 3.”

Others who attended the party included GMA Films president Annette Gozon-Abrogar, Philip Salvador, Boots Anson-Roa, Mother Lily Monteverde, Jestoni Alarcon, Delia Razon and   Ramon 'Mon' and Raffy Tulfo.
