Blake Lively loves old clothes

Blake Lively has revealed her mother's second hand blouse is the "most treasured item" in her closet.

The Gossip Girl actress confessed that despite having access to some of the biggest fashion houses' designs, it is old clothing she likes the most.

The American star says the memories attached to certain garments are what makes them special to her.

"The most treasured item in my wardrobe is the blouse my mum wore for her first date with my dad. Isn't that special?" Blake revealed to the British edition of ELLE magazine. "It's a soft cream colour, ties around the waist and has a beautiful twinkle where it's embellished with tiny crystals on the shoulder."

Blake admitted that her preference to cling onto old clothing and garments means she has a tendency to hoard things.

The blonde Gucci muse confessed she has had to develop a sophisticated way of storing her most treasured items in order to get around space constraints in New York City where she lives.

"My closet is full of everything: hats, shoes, jewellery, bags. I have far too many clothes," Blake continued. "Living in New York, you have to make do with very little storage space, so I work in seasons and pack everything else away."
