Bianca Manalo moves on
Bianca Manalo was admittedIy hurt when she and John Prats broke up last May. But the beauty queen-turned-actress says she has given herself time to be reflect and is now enjoying a single life.
Bianca and John broke up seven months after they became an item. Although many think Bianca remained strong in the face of the breakup, she admitted feeling vulnerable.
“Hindi rin (ako ganoon katatag). Kasi bilang babae, kapag nasaktan ka, masakit. Naniniwala ako na you can wallow, you can grieve, but you have to give your grief a deadline. (Like) ‘Oops, sandali, hanggang dito lang ako or tama na iyon,” Bianca told Yahoo! Philippines OMG! and some members of the press at the 6th Star Magic Ball on Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Makati Shangri-la Hotel.
Sorting out feelings
Bianca believes she had to vent and sort out her feelings to move on.
“Naiyak mo na. Okay na. Kasi naniniwala ako na kapag mahina ka, iiyak mo lang. Mahina ka ngayon, pero dadating ang panahon, lalakas din ang loob mo.”
How is she now, four months after the breakup?
“I’m very, very happy. I’m enjoying the company of my family and friends. Sa ngayon, iyon muna. Time to enjoy all by myself and focus sa career,” she replied.
Bianca dismissed rumors that she cut her hair because of the breakup. She explained that short hair is required for her a new endorsement, L’Oreal Matrix.
“Kahit itanong niyo pa si John, nung kami pa lang alam niya na ika-cut ang hair ko ng August. And kung tungkol ito sa breakup, eh di sana four months ago ko pa ito ginawa,” she added.
Awkward moment?
At the Star Magic Ball, Bianca and John walked the red carpet just a few feet away from each other. John told reporters he has no problem speaking to Bianca if he bumps into her.
“In case makita ko siya, this is going to be the first time after the breakup! Exciting ito! This is going to be fun,” John said in jest.
Bianca shared that she doesn’t mind talking to John as well, since theirs was a good relationship. She said that she will just “go with the flow.”
“I think nothing’s going to be wrong with that. Wala namang magiging problema doon. Marami naman kaming magagandang pinagsamahan together, mga masasayang memories, so I don’t think na magkaka-problema.”
Separate lives
Bianca added that she and John have moved on with their lives.
“Masaya na siya. Masaya na rin ako. Iyon na ang mahalaga. Mas masaya na kami sa bawat ginagawa namin. Kung ano man pong ginagawa namin, masaya na kami.”
Bianca added she isn’t dating anyone yet, but is open to the idea of meeting someone.
“Why not? You know, I’m young, I am happy. So, kung may ma-meet man ako or may magpakilala, sino ba naman ako para di ba? Open ako.”
