Real-life celebrity sweethearts Zanjoe Marudo and Bea Alonzo are willing to take their off-screen romance on screen, as long as the project is good.

Hindi naman ako tatanggi doon,” Zanjoe said in an interview at Z Cup golf tournament, which Bea herself organized as advanced  birthday gift for her boyfriend of two years.

“Siguro kapag tumanggap kami ng project, it really, really has to be special. Pero siguro kapag napakaganda ng project na hindi katanggi-tanggi, we’re not closing our doors,” Bea said.

Bea and Zanjoe worked together only once – for the movie “24/7”  -- which  featured other Star Magic artists. The two have been paired with different artists since then.

Drawing the line

Zanjoe said they try to draw the line between  work and  personal life.  This way, they don’t get jealous of each other’s work and on screen partners.

Even if Bea and Zanjoe’s relationship is getting stronger, the couple agrees they are not ready to tie the knot anytime soon.

“Malayo pa kami doon. We have all the time in the world para gawin iyan, pag-usapan iyan. Parang ayaw namin i-skip itong stage na ito kung saan dapat nagi-enjoy kami at hindi muna kami nagja-jump into another level,” Bea explained.

Bea admitted she gets upset reading false write-ups and hearing about wedding rumors.

Botched surprise

She was supposed to surprise Zanjoe with the Z Cup, but he found out all about it himself.

We also want this to be an annual thing na sana,” Bea said.

Zanjoe is happy Bea found time to organize the event despite her full schedule.

“Everything fell into place. Kakatapos ko lang sa 'Four Sisters and a Wedding'  and I’m about to start a new project. So, I’m about to get busy again. Nagkataon na may window ako for his birthday (which actually falls on Tuesday, July 23),” Bea said.

Paul Soriano, John Estrada and Bayani Agbayani were among those who joined the tournament.
