April Boy Regino bounces back
April Boy Regino has bounced back in the entertainment scene, after having been pronounced cured of prostate cancer by his doctors in America. He is also suffering from diabetes and hypertension but all these are now under control, according to April Boy and his wife Madelyn.
What cured him of his cancer and other diseases?
April Boy said, “Una sa lahat, ang Diyos ang nagpapagaling sa atin. But yong organic barley grass powder is a gift that we all must enjoy if only for its curative effect.”
April Boy started taking natural supplements upon his brother-in-law’s recommendation. After only a few days, April Boy felt better, stronger. Even his virility was restored.
“Kaya masaya na ulit si Madel,” April Boy confessed.
Having cancer is a very expensive thing, the Reginos said. “Ang mahal mahal ng mga gamot, ng medical expenses, especially wala naman kaming medical insurance sa America. So I became so depressed. Sabi ko umuwi na lang tayo sa Pilipinas.”
April Boy brought his family to the US in the hope that they would have a better life there. At first, he had concerts, but soon work dwindled, even if he and Madel had established their own production company called Idol.
“Mahirap pala talaga dun,” Madel said. “Imagine, sometimes we have to drive all day long to reach the concert venue is. Nagkataon pang recession when we were there. Kaya nagdecide kami na umuwi na lang.”
While here, April Boy was able to help jumpstart the singing career of his son JC who has recorded an album.
As a thanksgiving gesture, April Boy will go on a nationwide concert tour starting Nov. 26 at the Marikina Sports Complex.
The concert billed as “Ang Pasasalamat with April Boy Regino & JC Regino,” is in cooperation with the Marikina City Government and Rotary Club. Proceeds will benefit the Anti-Drug Abuse Campaign and Children in Conflict with the Law.
Manny Pacquiao has confirmed his guest appearance in the concert.
“Tapos na ang laban ko kay Marquez at that time, kaya I can be in your concert,” Pacquiao told April Boy. The Reginos were residents of Las Vegas for several years. It was there that a friendship between him and Pacquiao developed. It so happened that they are fans of each other.
Other guests performers are Lito Camo, the hit composer who has been writing songs for Pacman and is musical director of his game show on GMA 7, “Manny Many Prizes;” Ciara Sotto, Jan Marini, Justin Pinon, the J.Z.E. Band, the Basagan na Band, the Instinct Band and many more.
