If there's one thing that Anne Curtis can relate to in her role as the mistress Kara Zalderiaga in Star Cinema's "No Other Woman" it is that love makes people do crazy things.
That’s what she implied during the press conference Sep. 21, of the movie "No Other Woman," when she said that one of the crazy things she did while in love was pursue a man.
"Kung willing akong maghabol, yes. Kasi I think pag in-love ka mababaliw ka talaga…. Wala ka nang pakialam sa sasabihin ng mg tao, all-out ka talaga para sa taong mahal mo. Hindi mo na iisipin yung mga consequences," Anne replied candidly.
Even if she finds out her babe has been cheating on her, Anne says love--or maybe ego--trumps common sense.
"When that happens kasi, hiwalayan na agad. But the thing is, when you're put into that position, hindi mo kaya. Kailangang malaman mo na ikaw pa rin ang pipiliin. So ipaglalaban mo at siyempre gusto mo ipamukha sa 'kung sino man siya' na ikaw ang pinili," she stressed.
She said that when she was younger, she did experience having another woman steal her boyfriend.
"Masakit na inagawan ka. Siyempre, you get to the point na hindi mo na kilala sarili mo. So napagdaanan. I think it is all part of growing up as well kasi from these experiences you learn how to be mature and how to handle relationships even more. Natututo kang hindi na maghabol. Masakit siya," she related.
She admitted she was lacking in life experience when it came to tackling her role with ease so she was grateful for being in the company of "smart actors." She said working with Derek was "fresh," leaving her feeling comfortable enough to go all-out on her role, especially during "steamy love scenes."
In the film, Anne plays a carefree socialite. Despite knowing that men easily fall for her, she has yet to find her true love. Enter the character of Derek, a successful and married man she falls in love with.
"No Other Woman" is directed by Ruel S. Bayani and is slated to open on Sept. 28 in more than 100 theaters nationwide.
