Annabelle’s political plans shocks Ruffa
Annabelle Rama’s plan to run for Congress in next year’s elections came as a shock to her daughter Ruffa Gutierrez.
“To tell you honestly, mom’s plans of running for Congress in Cebu came as a shock to me. I remember I was in Hong Kong, nagkasakit ako 'nun for food poisoning and then pag-check in ko sa Twitter ko, ah! Trending si Annabelle Rama,” she said at the press conference of TV5’s “Enchanted Garden” last August 30.
She then called her mom to confirm.
“'Day, tawagan kita ulit, nagfa-file pa ‘ko'” Ruffa quoted her mom.
'Very decided'
Ruffa told media that at first she didn’t think her mother was serious about the whole thing. But as it turned out she was apparently “very decided.”
What’s Ruffa’s stand on Annabelle’s decision?
“Of course she’s my mom, I’m going to support her in whatever she does. I don’t think she will run naman na hindi nya alam ang ginagawa nya. If this is God’s calling for her, then definitely—I’ve supported my mom and my family in all of the ups and downs in our lives—so I’ll definitely be supporting her,” Ruffa replied.
She added that Annabelle bought a pair of sneakers to wear on her constant trips to Cebu. It is her mom’s first pair.
“Gagamitin daw niya 'yun sa pag-iikot sa iba’t ibang barangay,” Ruffa relates.
No objections
Meanwhile, Ruffa was surprised to hear that younger brother Richard is in Boracay with actress Sarah Lahbati.
“Lagi na lang akong huli sa balita!” Ruffa revealead.
But she has no objections.
“Well, Chard(Richard) is good-looking, Sarah’s good-looking, and if they like spending time with each other, then why not, cocounut?”
