The Kapamilya actress was named Movie Actress of the Year award for her role in "One More Try," besting veteran stars such as Nora Aunor ("Thy Womb") and Gina Alajar ("Mater Dolorosa"), among others.

"Hindi po ako makapaniwala talaga," she said during her acceptance speech. "Para sa akin, ang mga artista, isa sa pinakainsecure na tao yan... So yung nga ganitong bagay, ang laki ng naitutulong."

"Honestly, hindi ko po alam kung ano ang gagawin ko pag di ako umaarte. Ganun ko kamahal ang acting," Angel added.

The 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival entry "El Presidente" received the Movie of the Year and the Actor of the Year award for Jeorge Estregan Jr.

This is Estregan's second consecutive Actor of the Year award from the Star Awards for Movies. Last year, he won the same award for "Manila Kingpin" with Aga Muhlach (who won the award for "In the Name of Love").

Mark Meily also scored two victories for the historical film by winning the Movie Director of the Year and Movie Screenwriter of the Year awards.
