Angel doesn’t want Phil to watch upcoming movie

If Angel Locsin would have her way, she doesn’t want Phil Younghusband to see her as a liberated woman who doesn’t need a man to make her happy in Star Cinema’s “Unofficially Yours.”

She doesn’t want to let the man she loves see her in a role that’s a far cry from who she really is.

The character is such a far cry from who she is in real life. And Angel is afraid Phil will get the shock of his life.

Phil has seen the trailer though and told Angel that he likes it. He even proudly displays the “Unofficially Yours” poster on his car and doesn’t mind seeing Angel getting cozy with leading man John Lloyd Cruz in the movie.

It helped that Angel introduced John Lloyd to Phil who saw for himself that he has no reason to feel jealous or insecure.

It’s been almost a year since Angel and Phil started dating.  Angel recalls that Phil tweeted her for the first time to ask her out on a date Feb. 10 last year.  They went out three days after.

“At the start, hindi ako ready. ”

She did, and discovered Phil’s good qualities along the way.

Phil, he goes on, has Filipino values.  He loves Filipino food.

But they have no plans of going out on a date  this Valentine’s day since Angel says she will be with John Lloyd promoting the movie on Feb. 14, a day before  “Unofficially Yours” opens Feb. 15 in 100 theaters nationwide.

Cathy Garcia-Molina directs the movie.
