Angel, Angelica hope to win Best Actress award

Angelica Panganiban and Angel Locsin, who topbill Star Cinema’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry “One More Try,” would feel honored to be nominated Best Actress alongside Nora Aunor. But the Kapamilya stars still hope they will bring home the Best Actress trophy on Dec. 27.

“Yes, may laban kami,” Angelica said at the press conference of “One More Try” in ABS-CBN compound on Wednesday, December 5.

‘May himala’

“Naniniwala kami na may himala,” she added in jest.

While Angelica and Angel recognize Nora’s outstanding acting talent, they are proud of their own performance in “One More Try,” which also stars Dingdong Dantes and Zanjoe Marudo.

Sobra kaming positive,” Angelica said.

Angel shares Angelica’s sentiments.

Angel feels flattered her director, Ruel Bayani is confident she and Angelica will win Best Actress even if other talented performers are vying for  the said award.

Dedication and confidence

So kung sino man ang manalo doon I think deserving naman talaga iyon, whether kami man or sa ibang pelikula.

She admits hesitating in accepting the project at first. But on second thought, Angel felt playing the mother of an ailing son is too good to resist.
