American Idol Season 11 finalists arrive in Manila
American Idol Season 11 top 10 finalists, which includes Filipino-Mexican Jessica Sanchez, arrived in Manila on Tuesday morning, September 18, for a one-night concert and a series of mall shows.
"Can't believe I'm here. Manila will def(definitely) be one of my best memories," Jessica tweeted.
Aside from Jessica, Filipino fans warmly welcomed season winner Phillip Phillips, Joshua Ledet, Hollie Cavanagh, Skylar Laine, Elise Testone, Colton Dixon, DeAndre Brackensick, Heejun Han and Erika Van Pelt at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Around 6 AM, Philippine Airlines tweeted, “Mabuhay! Welcome to the Philippines! @AmericanIdol @Phillips@JSanchezAI11 @joshledet @coltondixon @Skylar_Laine #AI#PR103 #0535.”
The next flight included Hollie, Elise, Heejun, DeAndre and Erika.
Upon their arrival, Colton tweeted that Manila reminds him of Panama City Beach.
“Officially in Manila! it kinda reminds me of a foreign Panama City Beach. haha,” Colton tweeted.
So much fun!
Despite the long flight, Heejun expressed his excitement to perform in Manila.
“OMG THIS IS GOING TO BE SO MUCH FUN #MANILA,” Heejun tweeted.
But it was Joshua who was misunderstood by some when he tweeted that he was “not excited” about the 18-hour flight to the Philippines.
“I'm excited about the Philippines Just not the flight! Don't take my last tweet the wrong way!,” Joshua clarified.
The Americal Idol Live! Tour 2012 will be held on September 21 at Smart Araneta Coliseum. They will also have their mall shows at Eastwood (September 19) and Alabang Town Center (September 20) to promote their albums.
