Albie Casiño grateful for new career opportunity

Controversial young actor Albie Casiño gets a second wind in show business, a few years after his television career was cut short.
 
The former ABS-CBN star will be part of TV5’s upcoming daily series, “Cassandra: Warrior Angel.” Set to premiere this May, the show will also star Eula Caballero, Gabby Concepcion, and Eula Valdez, among others.

“Hopefully. That’s the hope, that’s the goal,” Albie said when asked if he hopes upcoming Kapatid show will resurrect his once-stellar TV career.
 
“(I’m) very grateful, very grateful,” he added, adding that TV5 has given him a new opportunity in showbiz. “And I’m thankful for it.”
 
The 19-year-old actor shot to fame when he was launched as one of the leading men in ABS-CBN’s “Mara Clara.” But hi showbiz career came to a halt following his conflict with ex-girlfriend Andi Eigenmann in 2011. Albie appeared in two movies in 2012: the Cinemalaya entry “The Animals” and the Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Shake, Rattle, and Roll: The Invasion.”

However, save for a few guest spots, he didn’t have a regular show.
 
Albie revealed he is now managed by Leo Dominguez, who also manages Lovi Poe, Solenn Heussaff, and Paulo Avelino, among other stars.
 
While hoping for the best, Ablie said he has no expectations.
 
“Nagulat din ako. Ang bilis, all of a sudden meron na agad,” he said of role in “Cassandra: Warrior Angel.” He will play one of Eula’s leading men.
 
Albie added, “I’m thinking about my role muna.  Role lang naman yun. I’m just gonna try to do that to the best that I can.”
 
But the young actor remains mum on the subject of Andi and her daughter Adrianna Gabrielle or Ellie, responding “no comment” every time he is asked about his ex or if he has tried to reach out to Ellie when she celebrated her birthday last year.
 
“No comment; favorite phrase ko yun,” Albie quipped.

He further said, “I think everyone just moved on already from it.”

“There are other things that I prioritize myself with now,” Albie said.
