Aiza hurt for Tito Sotto

Most Popular Videos

Aiza Seguerra is for the passing of the controversial RH (Reproductive Health) Bill. Sen. Tito Sotto is against it. But Aiza doesn’t take it against Sotto. In fact, she respects his opinion and hopes others stop attacking him on a personal level.

“I am pro-choice, I am pro-education. Yung sinasabi nila na hindi tayo overpopulated, hindi ako naniniwala. I believe overpopulation is a very big problem because we don’t have the means. Sa sobrang dami natin, hindi pa kaya ng gobyerno natin,” Aiza said in an interview at the press conference of “Be Careful with My Heart” in ABS-CBN compound on Tuesday, September 12.

Appeal for respect

Aiza clarified that she is not defending Sotto’s stand because they have different opinions. She is just asking people to respect him.

“I cannot defend someone na magkaiba kami ng opinion. All I’m saying is for people to have constructive criticisms naman. Ito na nga, mainit na yung subject, yung pag-post niyo ng memes sa Internet, does it help? We have to focus on the situation.”

Aiza added that she got hurt for the senator, whose family has been bashed as well. She said people should “focus on the issue,” instead of ridiculing anyone.

“Huwag nang idamay yung mga hindi naman kasama sa issues. Titirahin yung pamilya ni Tito Sen (Sen. Tito Sotto), bakit? Dahil nagrereact sa issue? Of course, they are family. Normal iyon.”

Aiza and Sotto don’t’ let politics affect their cordial relations.

“Huwag nang mangdamay ng mga ibang tao. Kung ano man yung opinion ng bawat isa, respect na lang. Ang hindi ko lang gusto yung mga personal kung tumira. Bilang love ko siya, I get hurt also. Even if we’re not on the same side, if he is against it and I am pro. I get hurt and I talk to him pa rin kasi labas naman yung politika sa amin,” she said.

‘Be Careful with My Heart’ rewind

Aiza is happy for the success of the Kapamilya morning TV drama “Be Careful with my Heart,” which will  replay Saturday mornings.

“We’re happy but we don’t want to put pressure on ourselves. Blessing ito. We believe na ginagawa namin yung best that we can. Feeling namin na if we overcompensate, masisira yung formula. The reason why people like it is it’s very natural.”

Up next for Aiza is her 25th anniversary concert “Bente Singko" at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Friday, September 28.
