Comedienne Ai-Ai delas Alas hopes non-showbiz boyfriend Jed Salang is the last man in her life.
“Naniniwala ako na siya yung binigay sa akin,” Ai-Ai said in an interview on Kris TV on Friday, November 23.
She added that she prayed for a man who will be given to her peacefully and with “no stress.”
Ai-Ai believes Jed is her answered prayer because their respective families approve of their relationship.
She shared, “Kasi buong buhay ko, sabi ko I trust God. Noong nagdasal ako sa Jerusalem, sabi ko Kayo na po bahala sa amin. Siya lang ang lalaki na gusto ni Sophia (Ai-Ai’s daughter). Siya lang ang lalaking naghatid at nagsundo sa akin sa bahay. Nakapasa siya sa mahihirap na maipasa sa buong buhay ko.”
Big age gap
Some people believe the relationship won’t last because Ai-Ai is 20 years older than Jed. But Ai-Ai believes age doesn’t matter. She also denied that Jed is after her money (his family owns a car dealership business in Alabang). And Ai-Ai believes she is worthy of love.
“Bakit hindi ba ako pwedeng mahalin ng isang disenteng taong bata? Pwede naman eh. Mukha lang akong walang pinag-aralan, pero college graduate naman ako. Cute naman ako,maputi ako, maganda naman ako. Pwede naman di ba? Hindi lahat pera, hindi lahat ito yung habol ng isang tao. Pwedeng ang dalawang tao nagmamahalan ng hindi dahil sa ganoon.”

Ai-Ai added that love is not based on numbers or status in life.
“Ang pag-ibig hindi nakikita kung anong edad mo, kung mayaman or mahirap ka, ang pagmamahal andoon iyon. Emotion iyon. It’s a universal feeling na nararamdaman ng dalawang tao na hindi natin ma-explain kung bakit. Noong una ko siyang nakita, naramdaman ko ito ang destiny ko.”
Dreams of getting married
Despite her failed relationships, Ai-Ai still dreams of tying the knot.
“Iyon ang dream ko na ikasal ako, magkaroon ako ng pamilyang wagas, wala akong kasalanan kay Lord, na malinis ako kasi kasal ako, kaya napag-uusapan namin.”
Jed, who joined Ai-Ai in the morning show, said they are just waiting for God’s time.
