It was revealed recently that actor Kim Bum will be starring in Tsui Hark’s movie ‘Detective Dee: The Prequel’, joining fellow cast members like William Feng, Angelababy, Mark Chao, and Lin Geng Xin.
Through the drama ‘Boys over Flowers’, Kim Bum was able to unlock the doors to the China market and gain a huge following. Kim will also be the only foreign actor in the movie.
Tsui Hark is a famous name in South Korea as his past movies like ‘A Chinese Ghost Story’, ‘Once Upon a Time in China’, and ‘The East is Red’ were box office hits over there.
Kim Bum expressed, “I have seen Tsui Hark’s wuxia movies since I was little, and he is one of the directors that I respect very much. I am unlikely to have another chance like this if I pass on this. I am very grateful to him for giving me this good opportunity and I will do my very best.”
‘Detective Dee: The Prequel’ is estimated to air in cinemas next year. Filming begun recently at Hengdian World Studios while Kim Bum will join the filming set in end August after concluding his existing schedules.
