2NE1 to Be First Korean Girl Group to Go On Global Tour

2NE1 has announced the initial details of its upcoming global concert tour.

2NE1’s global tour New Evolution will kick off in Seoul’s Olympic Gymnastic Stadium on July 28 and 29 and will bring them through not only the Asia region but the Americas and Europe to bring them through seven different countries and 10 different cities. The feat will make them the first Korean girl group to have its own independent global concert tour. New Evolution will also be supported by global concert agency, Live Nation, which is producing Big Bang′s current global tour.

A representative for YG Entertainment said, “2NE1’s World Tour New Evolution will, just as its name suggests, show an evolved form of the group from last year’s exclusive concert both in form of the stage performances and talents from the members.”

The agency also added additional concert dates may be added saying, “Though we currently have seven nations and 10 cities planned so far, there’s a high chance that at the request of overseas agencies, additional dates may be added.”

Ticket sales for the Seoul concerts will open on June 26 on Gmarket.
