Patrick enjoys being a hands-on dad
Patrick Garcia enjoys being a new father to four-month-old Chelsea, his daughter with non-showbiz girlfriend Jessica Martinez.
“Masaya. Hands-on kami, wala kaming yaya. Iyon ang bonding namin,” Patrick said in an interview on the set of “Annaliza” at San Jose, Bulacan on Wednesday, July 10.
Patrick admits he savors the joys of fatherhood.
“Putting her to sleep, changing her diaper, feeding her” are just some of the things Patrick does as a dad who describes himself as loving and caring.
“Mas nai-enjoy ko siyempre. Kasi yung responsibilities mo, mas nagagawa mo. Mas nagiging responsible ka rin.
Patrick has not seen Alex Jazz, his son with Jennylyn Mercado, lately. And he doesn’t want to comment on the situation.
Patrick and Jennylyn reportedly have a misunderstanding over the issue of parental support.
Advice to girlfriend
Patrick tells Jessica not to let intrigues affect her.
“First hand, alam naman niya ang totoo. I just explain to her na it’s part of the business sometimes. Ang importante lang is not to be affected and huwag magalit, kasi kung sino ang magalit, iyon ang talo.”
In a previous interview, Patrick said that marriage isn't his immediate concern because he wants to take it "one step at a time."
“Someday I'll settle down and get married. Kung ano man yung journey ko sa buhay, tatanggapin ko yun ng buong buo. If may mali man, I try to correct it and I try to make my life better. I don’t know how soon or how late, one step at a time.”
He added that he can relate to Lazaro, his character in “Annaliza,” since he’s also a dad.
“In a way, nakaka-relate ako kasi I’m a father as well. I’m enjoying it a lot. Binigyan ako ulit ng ABS-CBN ng opportunity para gaiwn ang isang bagay na mahal kong gawin. I embrace that responsibility. I think I’m doing well naman.”
