KC Concepcion welcomed 2014 with a new outlook and career decisions.

The Kapamilya actress, who recently suffered from pneumonia, will be taking a short break from her career to study abroad for the first quarter of the year.

She took to microblogging site Twitter to update fans of her immediate plans, which includes taking up “short courses for professional development.”

“After getting pneumonia, I decided to take the jump & do something new for myself. I'm still a Kapamilya & will be back,” KC posted on Twitter.

Her previous projects, such as the teleserye “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” and Metrom Manila Film Festival Entry “Boy Golden,” have taught her many things about her craft. Her portrayal as Alexis Ganzon in “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” gave her a Best Supporting Actress award in last year’s Star Awards for TV.

KC also apologized to fans, who were expecting her to play Dyesebel in ABS-CBN’s TV remake of the popular Mars Ravelo character (ABS-CBN recently announced that it is tapping Anne Curtis for the role).

“Hi guys, I'm sorry to disappoint, but I will NOT be playing "Dyesebel" 🐠💜 I'll be studying abroad for the first quarter of the year,” KC said.
