'The Vampire Diaries' star visits Manila

American actor and “The Vampire Diaries” star Ian Somerhalder has good news for Filipino fans. Ian arrived in Manila on Saturday night, May 19.

Ian, Damon Salvatore in the supernatural TV series, posted a short message on Twitter on Thursday, May 17, “See you soon PHILIPPINES! ;) Let’s rock this #PENSHOPPEAllStars.”
Ian is the newest endorser of Penshoppe, which also has Ed Westwick, Zac Efron and Mario Maurer as brand ambassadors.

Ian again tweeted on Saturday midnight, May 19, that he is on his way to Manila.
“On plane Going to two places Ive never been-Seoul and Manila. Talk to you from Korea Twitterverse :) on my way to the Philippines-good night,” he tweeted.

According to publicist Joyce Ramirez, Ian will stay in the Philippines for a week to shoot his campaign for Penshoppe and hopefully meet his Filipino fans.

Ian was warmly welcomed by his Filipino fans at the airport, which overwhelmed him and tweeted that he felt like a member of the Beatles. He also tweeted that he is "very happy to be in the Philippines."

"Hello Manila! Wow, what a greeting at airport-That was a 1st I feel like 1 of the Beatles. Thank you for a warm welcome. Youre bad for my ego!," Ian tweeted.
