How To Look Great In The Morning

Radio broadcaster Tracy Abad is more than her witty banter on air as she lines up trending topics and good music for your morning drive in The Wake Up Show on Mellow 94.7. If you didn't know, she has a pretty face to back up all that wit behind the mic. But with such an early show (it starts at 6 a.m. until 10 a.m., Monday to Friday), how does she keep up on a daily basis without ever sacrificing beauty? And must we mention the high risk of dark under eye bags? No one wants that.

Tracy wakes up every morning at around 3:30 a.m. "I try to be at the station, at least, by 5:30 a.m. I try to feel the booth and just spread that positive energy I've acquired while getting ready," she says. Like most people, it's already hard getting up at 7 or 8 a.m. but lucky for Tracy she's a morning person. "I feel like I get to accomplish a lot of things because of my schedule. Sleeping is harder for me than waking up," she explains. "I just usually hit my snooze button twice. But I must admit, there are those days when I want to throw my phone so I can sleep some more."

Her morning beauty routine is simple. She takes a shower, applies toner and sun block, and makes a mad dash to the station. At night, though, in a less hurried state, she makes sure she washes her face thoroughly, tones, and moisturizes. Her favorite beauty perk-me-up is her lip-and-cheek tint. "It's always great to start your day with some color," she says. She keeps this inside her bag all the time, plus concealer. "It hides the nasty blemishes!"

When it comes to beauty tricks, especially ones concerning all-nighters, Tracy believes that it really is all in the mind. "Just have a positive outlook and your beauty will shine through. No matter how haggard you look, a smile can make that go away. But wearing my eyeglasses also does the trick to hide my face a bit," she shares. "Then after, try to catch up on some more sleep."

Tracy really does prove to be a ray of sunshine, not just on The Wake Up Show. She advises women out there to "find something that you can do every day that you'll be excited about. With that kind of mindset, you'd be happy to wake up in the morning."
