Piolo on son Iñigo: Education first
Iñigo Pascual topped the trending list in Yahoo! Philippines days after his heartfelt VTR birthday duet with father Piolo Pascual last Sunday on ASAP Rocks. Amid public clamor to know more about the handsome 13-year-old, Piolo Pascual doesn't want his son to enter show business - yet.
In a press conference held Thursday, January 13, for Piolo's upcoming major concert on Valentines' Day entitled "Piolo meets the Maestro Ryan Cayabyab," the Kapamilya actor explained that although he appreciated his son's special birthday surprise, show business really has to take the back seat for Iñigo.
"You're all aware that I'm trying to keep him from showbiz because nag-aaral yung bata, ayokong mapublicize masyado because ayokong ma-divert yung attention niya from education or from school to showbiz because as it is mahirap if you're magnified. Whatever you do and then you're in school pag-uusapan ka. That's one of the reasons why I agreed na mag-aral siya sa states o pumunta siya sa states para at least he will have his own identity. But now that he's 13 and that video was really a surprise and gustuhin ko man siyang pagalitan, gustuhin ko mang magalit, parang it's served its purpose. For me talagang the biggest birthday gift I ever got from him and hindi namin inisip yung mga issues, hindi namin inisip yung pwedeng sabihin ng mga tao but you know for him as a son, he just wanted to make me really happy on my birthday and I respected that," said Piolo.
"I hope it doesn't get to his head. I hope na wag niyang isipin na window na yun o door na yun sa pagpasok sa shobiz at kalimutan ang pag-aaral because I really insist na tapusin pa rin yung pag-aaral bago mag showbiz, added Piolo."
Piolo talks about KC
Piolo and KC have never admitted their romantic relationship in public but actions definitely speak louder than words for the two.
KC gave Piolo an expensive gadget as a gift for his birthday.
"Ganda. Nasurprise ako pero wag ko na sabihin. Mahal eh. Pero ano yun ah kumbaga, nasa ano ko yun, pangarap kong magkaroon. and then I was really surprised when I opened the gift. Mahal talaga."
When asked to reports linking KC to Apl de Ap of the Black Eyed Peas, this is what he had to say.
"KC is a very friendly person; she can be friends with anyone. Ang importante naman security eh, and I don't see any problems with her making friends with anybody or even with Apl. Hindi naman siya kasi yung tipo na kailangan mo i-limit. Masyado siyang malawak na tao so wala akong issue with making friends with anybody," Piolo clarified. Even before they met up, she told me they were having dinner and that he's inviting her to fly to the States and you know binigay ko pa rin naman sa kanya yung choice eh," he added.
On KC's upcoming pairing with Sam Milby for a movie project, Piolo said he has nothing to worry about.
"Ako pa nga ang nagpitch na gumawa siya ng movie with Sam eh kasi I believe there's chemistry and Sam is a brother and you know they're so alike in so many ways, kung iisipin mo, bagay sila ni Sam kasi talagang pareho sila ng ugali pero Sam knows his place and at the same time with Kristina it's been very clear with them na they're really friends, actually, best of friends."
Aside from his major concert, Piolo hopes that on Valentine's Day, he'll have a chance to spend time with KC.
