Krista Kleiner’s advice to Bb Pilipinas bets: Be confident
2010 Binibining Pilipinas International Krista Kleiner shared her best advice to this year’s batch of hopefuls in an exclusive interview with Yahoo! Southeast Asia.
The statuesque beauty believes that more than having the look, confidence is a must to win the Binibining Pilipinas title.
"Confidence is really important. Some girls joining the pageant are really pretty but they lack confidence. Remain poised,” Krista said.
Krista also said this year’s candidates are very impressive.
“I think come pageant night we'll all be blown away. We have a really great batch," Krista said.
She also wished all the candidates the best of luck.
"I know their pain. Alam ko na ang sakit sakit na ng likod nila, nanginginig na yung cheeks nila pero it's worth it. It's part of the process. You have to go through the hard times to really be able to be your best come pageant night. So I wish them all the best of luck."
Krista landed in the top 15 of the Miss International pageant last year in Chengdu, China. She also won two special awards in the competition—“Miss Talent” and “Miss Expressive"—and also ended fourth in the pageant’s popularity contest.
Krista on Jay-R and her career
Krista won't be named “Miss Talent” for nothing. The Fil-Am beauty has a passion for dancing and singing. Julio Iglesias personally invited and signed her to be part of his world tour last year. She is also preparing a dance album with her boyfriend, the Philippines’ RnB Prince Jay-R.
"Definitely a lot of dance stuff because I like upbeat (music). I grew up dancing and I really want to give people music to dance to and have fun, more like Fergie, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Beyonce, that kind of music."
Her relationship with Jay-R is also as strong as ever.
"Well, Jay-R's been always supportive, he's an amazing boyfriend and you know my best friend, I think it's sweet that he says he's proud of me. I'm very proud of him also."
Krista will perform in a Valentine’s Day concert with Christian Bautista and 2010 Miss Universe fourth runner up Venus Raj at Resorts World in Pasay City.
