SHINee ends 2010 with first-ever series of concerts

Popular Korean idol group SHINee is set to end 2010 with a series of concerts in Korea and Japan. The group—composed of Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Taemin, and Minho—enjoyed tremendous success with its second full-length album, "Lucifer," released July of this year.

SHINee's first solo concert, entitled "SHINee—The 1st Concert in Seoul," will be held on December 18 and 19 at the KBS 88 Stadium. The following week, the boys will fly to Japan for their first overseas concert, entitled "SHINee—The 1st Concert in Japan," at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium on December 26. Recent reports reveal that, due to overwhelming fan requests, the boys will stage two performances on the same day in Japan.

The tremendous response to these concerts is not surprising since SHINee has received acclaim for their latest album "Lucifer." "Lucifer" sold more than 100,000 copies in Korea within the first two weeks of its release. This success was mirrored by similar chart-topping sales performances in Japan and other Asian countries. According to Universal Records, SHINee's Philippine distributor, "Lucifer" sold 1,800 copies on the first day of its release.

Last October 1, SM Entertainment, SHINee's record label and management company, released in Korea a repackaged "Lucifer" album entitled "Hello." The repackaged CD includes three additional songs entitled "Hello," "One," and "Get It."

Universal Records and SHINee World Philippines are hosting the Philippine launch of "Hello" through a special album launch event on November 27 at Astroplus The Block, Astroplus SM Mall of Asia, and Odyssey Megamall. The first 400 buyers of "Hello," priced at Php500 each, will receive freebies including an official SHINee "Hello" poster, 2011 calendar, and a collectible "Hello" calling card. Filipino shawols, the term used to refer to SHINee's fans, will surely flock to the malls to support their favorite idols of K-pop.
