Rain wins lawsuit against ‘Fugitive’ producers

Last April, Korean superstar Rain (Real name: Jung Ji Hoon) filed a lawsuit against the producers of "Fugitive Plan B," an action-drama that aired on KBS. Rain fans know that he visited the Philippines (Hyperlink: http://cathsdeen.com/2010/09/10/rainpressconference/) last year to shoot some scenes for this drama aside from completing his "Intensity" show at the SM MOA grounds.

Rain filed his lawsuit last April 8 formally accusing the "Fugitive" producers of reneging on the promised professional fees for his stint on the drama. The popular actor and singer expressed that his contract was very specific in stating that he will receive US$50,000 per episode for a total of 16 episodes.

However, Rain expressed that he only received US$320,000 and a second payment of the same amount. He also reported that he appeared in 4 extra episodes to complete the drama but is yet to receive the payment for these additional episodes. The total amount due Rain is at US$396,000.

Four months from the date of filing, the Seoul Central District Court has ruled in favor of Rain. They had ordered the "Fugitive Plan B" production company to pay Rain his rightful wages based on his contract of US$50,000 per episode.

"Fugitive Plan B" is Rain's last drama before military enlistment. His last concert tour will be in Korea as reported in an earlier Yahoo! Philippines OMG! story entitled "Rain promises The Best Show before enlistment" (Hyperlink: http://ph.omg.yahoo.com/blogs/okpop/rain-promises-best-show-enlistment-101740310.html).
