(UPDATE) It has finally happened. The moment I had been waiting for.
Since K-Pop started taking over the Philippines (and the world for that matter), I had been waiting for the time when I'll see billboard of top K-Pop stars particularly endorsing Bench. Why Bench? Well, if you recall, during the heyday of "Meteor Garden," Bench signed the popular Taiwanese star Jerry Yan to endorse its brand. The brand started a "Bench Yan" campaign. Whether you like it or not, that campaign proved extremely successful for the brand which sold "Bench Yan" shirts (and I am sure other things) like hotcakes.
Fast forward to 2012 and Bench proves anew that they are in tune with the pulse of the youth by signing two of the most popular K-Pop stars in the country--Super Junior's Donghae and Siwon. To mark their 25th anniversary, Bench has gone K-Pop!
There is no doubt that signing on Super Junior members is the best way to go since Super Junior is the most popular K-Pop stars in the Philippines with Donghae and Siwon leading the popularity contest. Just a few hours after Bench confirmed that Donghae and Siwon will be their new models, the news spread like wildfire over social media networks Twitter and Facebook. The Super Junior fans, the E.L.F.s, cannot contain their excitement and started tweeting and sharing away making the hashtags #Donghae, #Siwon and #SiHaeLovesBench trended and more than 2000 (and counting) people followed Bench's official twitter account. As of this writing, "DONGHAE and SIWON" and "SiHae" are still trending.
With this new development, I am sure Filipino K-Pop fans are already counting the days until they get to see the publicity photos of the boys. Are you excited? Share your thoughts through our comment box.
