Girls’ Generation to release ‘The Boys’ in the U.S.

Hallyu phenomenon Girls' Generation is going to America!

Following in the steps of other K-Pop entertainers like Rain and the Wonder Girls, who have transitioned to entertainment careers in the United States to varying degrees of success, Girls' Generation is preparing to release a maxi-single in the United States, distributed by respected American music distributor Universal Music Group. The girls will be under one of its record labels, Interscope Records. This report was released by the girls' management label, SM Entertainment (and its American counterpart, SM Entertainment USA).

As a member of the UMG family, Girls' Generation is now label mates with artists like Lady Gaga, Enrique Iglesias, Black Eyed Peas, LMFAO, Eminem, Limp Bizkit, and No Doubt!

SME also revealed that "The Boys," (LINK: http://ph.omg.yahoo.com/blogs/okpop/girls-generation-releases-teasers-advance-boys-comeback-074921853.html) the girls' latest full-length album, will most likely see a global release, with availability in Asia, North America, South America, and Europe a very real possibility. The international flavor of Girls' Generation's sound was confirmed when it was also made known to the public that "The Boys," (LINK: http://ph.omg.yahoo.com/blogs/okpop/girls-generation-releases-teasers-advance-boys-comeback-074921853.html) the title track of the new release, is a production of legendary music producer Teddy Riley (Michael Jackson, BLACKstreet). By all indications, "The Boys" will introduce Taeyeon, Jessica, Tiffany, Seohyun, Yoona, Yuri, Sooyoung, Hyoyeon, and Sunny, to a whole new generation of future K-Pop music fans.

All this excitement has resulted in the slight delay of the girls' comeback activities in Korea. Much to the relief and excitement of SONEs everywhere, though, SME did reveal that the official comeback activities of Girls' Generation will start on October 19 with the release of "The Boys," (LINK: http://ph.omg.yahoo.com/blogs/okpop/girls-generation-releases-teasers-advance-boys-comeback-074921853.html) on iTunes and in physical CD format in their native Korea. Aside from this, an exciting music video premiere on YouTube and Facebook will take place as well. Music show promotions begin on October 21 with a performance on "Music Bank."
