Filipino K-Pop fans prepare for year-end convention

The Philippine K-Pop community is abuzz with excitement as the Third Annual Philippine Kpop Convention fast approaches. The annual convention, the first of its kind in the world, gathers die-hard (and new) K-Pop fans to celebrate and promote their love for all things K-Pop!

This year's convention promises to be the biggest one yet with more than 60 of the biggest K-Pop fan clubs in the Philippines on board including 2ne1PH, 2OneDay, 4minutePH, B2ST Philippines, BigBang Philippines, CNBluePH, Cassiopeia Philippines, GGPH, Primadonna Philippines, ShineeWorld PH, Shinhwa Philippines, UKissme PH, SJ United Philippines, Triple S Philippines and many more.

If last year's K-Pop convention is to be the gauge, this year's event will most probably be bigger and better specially with an additional beneficiary in the form of the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). In the past, proceeds from the event went to Gawad Kalinga and Kalinga sa Bayan campaign. I wonder which fan club booth will be the most impressive this year. I got some inside information that Super Junior United is creating an "ELF Zone" and Shinhwa Philippines are preparing for the big 2012 comeback of Shinhwa! As for the merchandise, last year's biggest sellers were the Chikara hats. I wonder what this year's top seller will be...

The Philippine Kpop Committee, Inc. (PKCI), the event organizers, promises a day filled with excitement, socials, and cultural activities that not only aims to celebrate K-Pop but also to promote better Korean-Filipino relations. A press release from the PKCI indicated that there are several convention highlights fans can look forward to including the launch of KARA's "Step" ad ZE:A's "Exciting", over P260,000 (US$6000) worth of prizes and giveaways, 3,000 exclusive Kpopcon giftbags, 85 fanclub booths and concessionaires, talent competitions, activity booths, games, raffles, special performances, and the most awaited 3rd Philippine Kpop Awards.

It sure looks like the Philippine K-Pop community is ending 2011 with a bang by coming together through this huge event. Express your K-Pop love loud and clear by being counted at the biggest K-Pop event of the year.
