Brown Eyed Girls preparing for comeback

Korean girl group Brown Eyed Girls, best known for its 2009 smash hits "Abracadabra" and "Sign," is preparing for its much anticipated comeback, according to its management company, Nega Network.

Narsha, JeA, Miryo, and Ga In are known for their Type A personalities, and will not settle for just any run-of-the-mill production. It is for this reason that it has taken two years - an eternity in K-Pop - for the girls to release a follow-up to "Sound G," the groundbreaking album that provided a shot in the arm to the K-Pop industry and jump-started the electronica trend that persists even to this day. Nega representatives revealed that it is this hesitancy to stick to the electronic trend, which is now so prevalent in K-Pop, that is making it even more challenging for Brown Eyed Girls to come up with an album that reflects who they are as artists.

Factor in their sitcoms and radio DJing - Ga In is arguably the most popular, with recently concluded stints in "All My Love" and "We Got Married" opposite Korean vocal group 2AM's Jo Kwon - and you have the recipe for an album that will take its sweet time in getting released. According to Nega, the girls have gone through more than 700 demos, and recorded several, only to dump them later on. "We are investing a lot of time in finding high quality songs," representatives said. "We have recorded half of the album already, and we feel the songs will exceed fans' expectations."

Luckily for the girls, the increasing attention to new reality singing competition "I Am A Singer" encourages them that they are headed in the right direction. There have been indications that Narsha, JeA, Miryo, and Ga In are more inclined to invest in the kind of power ballads that were featured prominently in their previous releases, and if the Korean music-buying public is leaning towards purchasing artists with quality vocals over auto-tuned perfection, then Brown Eyed Girls are confident they're headed in the right direction.
