  • Video parody of ‘Iron Man 3’ trailer is the latest viral sensation

How do you replicate the trailer of a $200 million Hollywood mega-movie like “Iron Man 3” into something that fits, oh, a sorry ass shoestring budget?

    You own it!

That’s exactly what the Thai comedy group called Fedfe Boyband did—substituting the high-tech special effects of Robert Downey’s multimillion dollar movie franchise with cardboard, Styrofoam, crayons and, in the case of the suspended logo of Paramount Pictures, actual string.

But that hasn’t stopped Fedfe Boyband’s grade school project-like parody of the “Iron Man 3” trailer into becoming a viral sensation.

Since it went online on April 25, or just two days ago, the video has been viewed more than 260,000 times.

On the Facebook page called HSG (Hayop Sa Ganda) which uploaded the video parody just 12 or so hours ago, the shares have been through the roof, at more than 10,000 and counting.

Watch Fedfe Boyband’s version of the “Iron Man 3” trailer and tell us what you think.

Now compare it with the actual trailer.

  • Eraserheads concert most well-attended at World Music Fest

They screamed as they rode the sand dunes of Dubai, posed with Pinoy clerks at the Dubai Mall, checked out the souks and the world’s tallest building, and one may have gyrated alongside a belly dancer.

But they weren't just tourists. Ely Buendia, Raimund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala and Marcus Adoro were in the United Arab Emirates to become, once again, the Eraserheads. They may have brought along spouses and kids and sneaked in some shopping and sightseeing, but the once defunct band was in Dubai mainly to play the 2013 du World Music Festival.

Unsurprisingly, with Dubai being OFW country, the band packed the Dubai City Amphitheatre with 11,000 "enthralled" fans, according to a  Yahoo! report from Dubai.

  • Will this Pinay be the next ‘American Idol’?

“Are you Filipino?” Nicki Minaj asked the 17-year-old who had sauntered onto the "American Idol" stage during the Sudden Death elimination round in Last Vegas Wednesday, Feb. 21.

“Yes, ma’am!” replied the teen, who was dressed in a flowy mullet skirt and sky-high heels.

Latonio, a high school student of Anchorage’s East High School, sang Aretha Franklin’s “Ain’t No Way” and received a standing ovation from the judges.

She was the last contestant called to occupy only 5 positions reserved that day for the female contingent of the competition. Five other female hopefuls were eliminated.

Latonio said she was “relieved” when she made it as finalist.

    High praises from judges

Idol judge Mariah Carey praised Latonio for taking on a “big song.”

“I was really proud of you and really happy for you. That's Aretha Franklin. I really loved how you came through with your version of the song,” she said.

Keith Urban was equally effusive, saying

  • Movie Review: 4 ‘Les Miserables’ moments

“Les Miserables” hits theaters in Manila buoyed by (or saddled with) sky-high expectations.

The hit stage musical based on the 1862 novel by French writer Victor Hugo took more than 25 years to make it to the screen.

Anne Hathaway, who plays the prostitute Fantine, famously lost 25 pounds for the role.

RELATED: Jackman, Hathaway dream a dream in ‘Les Miz’

The movie already won Golden Globes for best picture, best actor for Hugh Jackman and best supporting actress for Hathaway. It is likely to win a few Oscars on Feb. 24, given its 8 nominations.

And those songs, now the default audition pieces for vocal aspirants, were sung live by the actors as the scenes were being shot, instead of being dubbed post-prod.

So, given the buzz, is the movie worth the price of admission (plus popcorn and Coke)?

    Let’s review the moments:

    1. Anne Hathaway as Fantine singing “I Dream a Dream.” The scene lives up to the hype. Fantine, sick and tragic, imagines her daughter Cosette as she
